Lobuche Peak Climbing - 18 Days

Lobuche Peak ClimbingLobuche peak is one of the popular trekking peaks in Nepal. The peak is an attractive summit and offers various routes for climbing. Although they are connected by a continuous ridge there is a sharp gap and a considerable distance between them. Lobuche is an attractive summit, offering a variety of existing routes and a wide scope for new lines. The first scaled to the Lobuche east peak by Laurence Nielson and Ang Gyaljen Sherpa on 25th April 1984. Lobuche East is reached by descending a marked notch and climbing steep snowy slopes to the top. On most, occasions, the peak is climbed on the summit ridge only as far as a subsidiary snow summit, south-east of the true peak and before the notch. We follow Everest base camp trek route up to Pheriche and then trek to Dughla. The views of Amadablam and Tawache are superb from here. We climb steep snow and ice slopes using fix ropes and get access to the ridge overlooking Lobuche and the Khumbu Glacier where we fix the high camp. Lobuche is the ideal as a last big trekking peak challenge, as it offers a series of top all along the ridge. From the summit, we have a great view of Mt. Everest and 360 degree Himalaya panorama that include all important peaks in the Khumbu valley.
